Regional Development Victoria - benchmarking research for Make it Happen in Provincial Victoria - 2006 CRIC, in collaboration with the ASCET Group, has been engaged by RDV to survey 400 Melbourne residents regarding their perceptions of Provincial Victoria. The research builds on a 2002 study, also undertaken by CRIC and ASCET, which initiated the Make it Happen in Provincial Victoria campaign. The current study will identify attitudes towards relocating to Provincial Victoria, barriers impeding relocation and target markets for the next phase of the campaign. The study is due for completion in August 2006.
Evaluation of the effectiveness of the ‘Small Towns Water Improvement’ program, – Central Highlands Water, May – August 2005 For this project, CRIC consultants surveyed residents in four separate water supply systems across Victoria. The surveys were designed to identify the extent to which improvements carried out in the water systems had improved residents’ perceptions of water quality in their area. The telephone surveys were conducted using CRIC’s sophisticated Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) system.
Evaluation of the effectiveness of the Water Restriction Campaigns Central Highlands Water, 2005, 2004 & 2003 For this project consultants developed surveys which were administered by telephone to 150 residential and commercial users of water from the Ballarat system. The surveys were designed to measure respondents’ recall of, attitudes towards, and knowledge of Central Highlands Water’s 2005, 2004 and 2003 water restriction campaigns. Results for the 2005 survey were compared with results from a similar survey conducted by consultants in earlier surveys.
Evaluating the effectiveness of water system improvements – Central Highlands Water, 2005 For this project CRIC consultants are evaluating consumer satisfaction levels relating to improvements which have been made to selected water supply systems in Central Victoria. The study involves a telephone survey of water consumers in four water supply systems.
Perceptions of water consumers in Central Victoria - Central Highlands Water, 2004 In 2004, CRIC consultants conducted 12 focus groups with water consumers across 10 water supply systems in Central Victoria. The focus groups were designed to identify consumers’ perceptions of water quality and service delivery. Findings were presented in a formal report to the water authority, and have been an important input in the authority’s planning processes.
Landholders’ perceptions of wetlands – Corangamite Catchment Management Authority, June 2004 For this project CRIC consultants conducted a survey of more than 50 landholders with wetlands on their properties. The aim of the survey was to identify landholders’ perceptions of, and management intentions, around wetlands. The project also involved a review of the literature pertaining to the effectiveness of wetlands conservation practices. The final report also contained a series of recommendations around improving the take-up of wetlands conservation practices.
Perceptions of the University of Ballarat – University of Ballarat, 2004 In 2004 CRIC conducted eight focus groups in the University’s traditional catchment area to identify perceptions of the University held within the community. Findings from those focus groups have been used to inform development of the University’s current marketing campaign.
