| Personal Profile: |
Sam is a lecturer in marketing at the University of Ballarat and is involved in a family run stud beef cattle enterprise and a horticultural supply company. His connections with rural industries run deep, and have given him first hand experience and knowledge of many of the challenges facing rural and regional communities.

| Research Profile: |
Sam is currently enrolled as a PhD student at the University of Ballarat. His research topic "Beyond Startup: Regional SME Growth Through Replication" is exploring the various paths by which small regional firms grow their businesses. Other research areas of interest include agricultural extension strategies, rural extension, rural and regional development, and general issues related to the competitiveness of Australian agribusinesses.
