Personal Profile:

Helen is responsible for the achievement of the Centre for Electronic Commerce and Communications’ (CECC) organisational objectives in respect of project management, client service, business development and financial management. She has extensive experience in the delivery and management of online service initiatives. Over the last four years she has been responsible for the successful completion of more than 55 contracted research and consultancy projects, with a total value of over $910,000. Helen is involved in a range of activities where her personal and professional skills contribute to the economic and social development of regional and rural Victoria. She is a member of management committees for a range of regional initiatives including the Ararat Community Building Project and the Moorabool Communities and Technology Project. Helen is also an active participant in a number of local groups such as Women in Business, the Ballarat ICT Cluster, the BITs Network and the Ballarat Technology Park Executive Network.

Research Profile: Helen is an active member of the CRIC Team. She regularly makes contributions to the literature through book chapters, journal articles, conference presentations and papers. Her areas of research interest include regional and rural development, community building, place based management, clustering and the effective use of information and communications technology (ICT). Helen has made more than thirty contributions to the literature. In conjunction with colleagues at CECC and CRIC she has produced a large number of applied research reports for regional organisations, local authorities and government. Since 2004, Helen has been a member of Editorial Advisory Board for the International Journal of Cases on Electronic Commerce. This journal is an official publication of the Information Resources Management Association.
